I have told all the big SD media names at least the basics about my SDRS/SDIC Whistleblower story back in Nov 2025-Jan 2026, yet you would never know that there is a likely fraud in the Retirement System by their reporting. Other Whistleblowers have had the same experience. How are the citizens of South Dakota supposed to make informed choices and fix the corruption in this state, if the corruption is not being reported or reported properly? Questions need to be asked about this.
In the meantime, I will gather stories from bloggers that have done work in the area of South Dakota corruption. Most victims of it themselves, and trying desperately to get help to no avail, just like the rest of us. So all we can do is inform the public to ask questions and demand answers from the South Dakota government and media.
Note: Exposelies605 is a non-partisan, SD Corruption only entity. Investigative bloggers and citizens may write things in the lens they see through, but I will only post well-sourced pieces that mostly focus on the corruption. Do not get triggered by any words as that is what the “bad guys” want the “good guys” to waste our time with instead of focusing on what these fraudsters are doing right in front of our faces. It does not matter what policy we pass, if the SD government isn’t going to follow the laws anyway. If you think you “won” on an issue, think again.
Myranda’s Story written as a 36 Count Indidment
I plan to write a fair amount of my own analysis of this story. But for now I will just post it to make it available for people to read. It’s riveting if you care about figuring out the root evil to the South Dakota Corruption problem. Please, take the time to read it. It makes a ton of connections of what is going on.

Yankton County In Spiral: Chairman John Marquardt’s Disastrous Leadership. Thrive Consolidates Control Over County
This came to me anonymously, but well sourced. People need to really focus on these "economic development" projects. Looks like we have some corruption in Yankton County that the people should ask some questions about.
Yankton County In Spiral: Chairman John Marquardt’s Disastrous Leadership. Thrive Consolidates Control Over County
4-H Program Debacle: In 2025, fear swept Yankton County as the beloved 4-H program for youth stood on the brink of collapse. Chairman John Marquardt, who touts himself as an agriculture leader, failed the leadership test when it mattered. Despite being forewarned, he remained silent as a motion passed to fund the 4-H board with a one-time grant instead of hiring an employee, a move that violated the county’s longstanding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the South Dakota State University (SDSU). The decision ignited outrage. 4-H families rallied, packed the next county commission meeting, and drew intense regional coverage from Dakota News Now and KCAU Channel 9, News, Sioux City. During the chaotic session, Marquardt used the media spotlight to announce his candidacy for State House of Representatives in violation of SDCL 12-27-20, while incorrectly blaming SDSU for breaking the 2023 MOU. He was promptly corrected: the County Commission, under his leadership, had broken the agreement. As citizens took turns at the podium to explain the situation, a flustered and visibly confused Marquardt slammed the table in anger. Graciously, SDSU offered an updated MOU, saving the 4-H program. Marquardt grudgingly signed the new MOU.
Swan Lake Wind Farm Disaster: Chairman John Marquardt faced a clear conflict of interest, not once, but twice in the rezoning and Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the Swan Lake Wind Project encompassing Yankton and Turner Counties. A taxpayer‑subsidized project proposed by a partially foreign‑owned entity that was not legally authorized to conduct business in South Dakota. Multiple wind turbines were planned for land that Marquardt’s brother had coincidentally purchased before the project became public knowledge. Despite this clear conflict of interest, Chairman Marquardt cast the deciding vote in a 3-2 approval, directly benefiting his brother financially. Hundreds of residents packed meetings over many months to voice strong opposition of environmentally damaging wind turbines, yet he refused to enact the will of citizens. In contrast, the Turner County chairman had a similar conflict of interest and recused himself, followed by the Turner County commission passing a one-year wind energy moratorium. Marquardt’s decision triggered an active lawsuit against Yankton County (Case #: 66CIV24-000412), scheduled for hearing on July 30, 2026. Litigation is costing county tax payers tens of thousands of dollars and a potential seven figure settlement. Marquardt recently stated that the Swan Lake project will “probably not happen now”. Though, our children will be burdened with Marquardt decisions long after he exits the commission.
Friends of John: During his time on the commission, and unlike 4-H, Marquardt has found causes he likes. He’s approved a plethora of wasteful spending in 2025 alone. Including, but not limited to: $350k for court and translator services for undocumented workers, over $500k to the largest medical facility in Yankton for indigent care, a majority of those costs covering undocumented workers utilizing ER and other medical services that were meant for citizens, and tens of thousands of dollars to feed undocumented workers at the contact center over the past three years alone. Upon taking office, Chairman Marquardt inherited a voluntary political agreement, not a legal requirement, to funnel $50,000 per year from county property taxes into Thrives coffers, which he has refused to stop, until the four-year Thrive YES4 Initiative ended in December 2025. Those funds have primarily benefited a small group of insiders while shutting out county citizens and local businesses. The bid process has consistently disadvantaged local contractors on multi-million-dollar projects, with the money instead being directed to out-of-county corporate friends. Millions of dollars in spending that could have benefited the families and infrastructure of Yankton County.
Corporate Consolidation: In 2026, Chairman Marquardt created both an Economic Development Task Force and a Financial Task Force under the banner of “efficiency” and “economic opportunity.” Yet both groups appear heavily populated by Thrive insiders. The Finance Task Force is chaired by the current Chair of Thrive Board and former CEO of the medical facility that previously sued Yankton County over the costs of medical services provided to undocumented workers. One of the proposals under serious consideration is forcing Yankton County citizens into an Opt-Out system (perpetual property tax increases). At a time when county spending continues to spiral upward, and the commission refuses to eliminate wasteful spending, taxpayers are left asking a simple question: How many more property tax increases can families afford? Question: Do the citizens of Yankton County want another chapter of failed leadership and insider-driven government in Pierre?

Chris Larson & Zahntech and SD Economic Development
Chris Larson is pursuing the real stories behind the corruption in the South Dakota Economic Development programs. This is a great interview of two normal, decent South Dakota business owners being railroaded by a system that seems to cater to out-of-state large businesses and ignore the SD small businesses those programs are suppose to be for. The method the “bad guys” use is the same all over the place in South Dakota….lie, delay, obstruct, corrupt. And the victim is very vocal that they have all the evidence. I got a whole list of people that are similar situations, but much much more extreme than this. He’s very lucky to have not taken the money, as it would likely be a deal with the devil.
When the State Credit Rating is downgraded to junk with my story, alot of these programs will be more difficult to continue, so maybe what goes around comes around, but ALOT of damage has already been done to the citizens of South Dakota.
Fred Carpenter’s story on the history of how we got here.
I get this feeling this isn’t quite South Dakota’s original sin, as I think we will find that goes way back to the cowboys and Indians and all the shady stuff that happened there. But the laws we changed in the 80’s to bring Citibank in seemed like a good idea at the time, but seemed to be derailed by corruption. We’ve been living with the consequences ever since.
James Bialota asking questions and not receiving answers
James Bialota continues his search for accountability with his evidence of perjury and other charges against Marty Jackley by going to the Hughes County State’s Attorney office that is the first person responsible for prosecuting crimes committed in that county.
ND BCI (Bureau of Criminal Investigation Division) investigated James Bialota’s claims and evidence.
ND BCI concluded there was enough evidence to prosecute Marty Jackley for several crimes.
Since the crime happened in Hughes County, the first person responsible for prosecuting this would be Casey Deibert, the Hughes County State's Attorney.
ND BCI sends the files to Casey Deibert. She refuses to prosecute.
The evidence James has is simple and public information. Marty Jackley's Federal and State campaign disclosures don't match. And doesn't for a long period of time and in a way that is hard for it to be a "mistake."
James Bialota asking the Hughes County States Attorney Office why they will not prosecute Marty Jackley with the clear evidence of crimes.
James Bialota’s accusations:
SD Attorney General, Marty Jackley, hid secret employment from a Washington DC Business. Where he sat as a Board of Directors. Which is illegal, to have Separate employment. and theft. SDCL 3-8-1 & 3-8-3. The employment payout appears to be Grand Theft. SDCL 22-30A-17. Grand theft 2x 2yrs
The Current Attorney General, committed perjury on his ethics forms in South Dakota to hide the illegal employment for several years, we can prove at least 2. SDCL 22-29-1 Perjury felony 2x 2yrs
The Ag then filed the falsified Documents with the state. SDCl 22-11-28.1. Offering false or forged instrument for filing, registering, or recording--Felony 2x 2yrs
That companies (Strategic Partnership LLC) clients (JAG) then received SD State Contracts. SDCL 5-18A-17. Self-dealing by state officer. 3-16-8. Self-dealing in award or terms of agency contract prohibited
SDCL 22-30A-46 Public official's use of public funds for official's financial benefit as theft. The Contract Amounts are Grand Theft.
SDCL 22-30A-17. Grand theft X2 2 Contracts were awarded to JAG, 1x $6k a class 4, 10 years 1 x class 3 15 years. This did not include the state contract cost authorized by the legislature to meet contract terms, which appears to be near a million or more.
SDCL 5-18A-17.4. Self-dealing violation as misdemeanor--Removal--Forfeiture of benefit--Contract voidable. Requires Removal from Office, The SD AG would be removed from his elected office.
Note: James became a certified Paralegal, because he was having just as hard of a time as the other whistleblowers in finding lawyers or getting questions answered from the State of South Dakota.
James Bialota’s hard evidence of crimes committed by Marty Jackley. You may think it’s crazy to citizen arrest Marty Jackley, but what can James and other whistleblowers do, when the entire SD government and media will not hold Marty Jackley accountable for anything?
Note: James Bialota is a Republican running against Marty Jackley in a Republican primary. Renae Randall thinks fixing the corruption problem is a bipartisan issue. So ExposeLies605 will support any politician/journalist that wants to take this issue seriously no matter what party. Exposelies605 will not get involved in other issues outside of SD government corruption and serious debate on how to fix this problem, which must involve more transparency and accountability in SD government. SD citizens need to focus on “good guys” vs “bad guys” in the South Dakota government. No matter what policies you prefer, it doesn’t matter if the government isn’t going to follow the laws anyway.
Gold’s Substack Questions of organized crime in SD Government
More good blogger South Dakota government news reporting. Good sourced stories that ask good questions that for some reason don’t get answered. Here are two examples of outright asking the question is Organized Crime toying with our elections and some good reasons why that question should be asked of our South Dakota Government.
Part 1 from Nov 2023
And Part 2 from Nov 2023
James Bialota with Evidence of Perjury by Marty Jackley
James Bialota is running against Marty Jackley for US House Representative. James is committed to corruption busting as he is a victim of Marty Jackley’s lawlessness also. James is also working with several whistleblowers, including myself, to inform people of the problem.
It is the first 30 minutes of this show. Especially min 5:00-6:00 and min 22:00-33:00 for some very concerning information about our government.
James has proof of four felony perjury charges on Marty Jackley’s campaign finance disclosures.
Since Marty Jackley can’t investigate himself, the North Dakota DCI investigated it and verified, plus found another charge. (these ND guys have had to do this alot because of this constant problem with SD AGs)
James has tried to find a person to prosecute in the State of South Dakota, but everyone with the proper authority refused.
The only option left is the Speaker of the House can call a special session and get 2/3s vote.
Myranda’s Multiple Whistleblowers story
Myranda is an amazing writer and did an excellent job explaining an incredibly complex story in a way the average person can understand using facts and evidence and asking good questions. This is what the local news should be doing, but for some reason they are not. So please bookmark Myranda and check in occasionally for updates on what’s really going on in this state government.
